How Tokenelligence Works

Tokenelligence is a research platform for Solana tokens. We combine live market data with hand-written research to produce a single comparable score for every project we cover. This page explains exactly what goes into that score, where the data comes from, and the limits of what we publish.

What is the Tokenelligence Score?

The Tokenelligence Score is a 0–100 rating that summarises a project's overall quality. A token's headline score is the weighted sum of its six factor scores — Fundamentals 25%, Adoption 20%, Safety 20%, Tokenomics 15%, Growth 10%, Ecosystem 10% — rounded to the nearest integer. A higher score means a stronger profile across fundamentals, usage, tokenomics, growth, ecosystem positioning, and risk.

    80–100High conviction tier
    65–79Solid, watch-worthy
    50–64Mixed profile
    0–49Significant concerns

Score corrections are logged publicly in the ratings feed.

How each factor is scored

Each factor is rated 0–100. Scores come from analyst review against the rubric below — not from a quantitative model. We re-score whenever material new information changes the picture.

Fundamentals

How real and useful the project is — team, product, and traction.

Quality of team, product-market fit, revenue mechanics, and defensibility of the core thesis.

Adoption

How many people and apps actually use it.

Active users, integrations, TVL/volume share, and depth of distribution within and beyond Solana.

Tokenomics

Whether the token's supply and rewards help or hurt holders.

Supply schedule, unlock cliffs, sink/source balance, value accrual mechanics, and insider allocation.

Growth

How fast it's improving versus a year ago.

Trajectory of usage, revenue, and shipped product velocity; momentum vs. base rates.

Ecosystem

How well it fits inside Solana and broader crypto.

Composability, integrations with core Solana primitives, and importance within the broader stack.

Safety (higher = safer)

Higher means more protection; lower means more risk.

Inverted risk: higher = lower exposure to smart-contract, regulatory, liquidity, governance, and concentration risk.

Note: the Risk factor is inverted — a high Risk score means lower exposure to smart-contract, regulatory, liquidity, governance, or concentration risk.

Conviction Ratings

Conviction is a qualitative label that captures our overall stance:

  • High Conviction — strong score, durable thesis, manageable risk.
  • Watch — interesting profile, but unresolved questions or unlock overhang.
  • Speculative — narrative-driven or early-stage. Treat as a small, sized bet.
  • Avoid — material concerns that outweigh upside at current pricing.

Research Status

Every project carries a status indicating how fresh and complete the research is:

  • Reviewed — research is current and the score has been re-validated.
  • Needs Update — last refresh is older than a week; treat with caution.
  • Draft — initial coverage; sections may be incomplete.
  • High Risk Review — extreme-risk asset under heightened scrutiny.

What data is live vs. researched

Live (auto-refreshed)
  • • USD price
  • • 24-hour price change
  • • Updated timestamp

Refreshed every 30 seconds from Jupiter Price API V3. If Jupiter does not return data, we show "Live data unavailable" rather than estimates.

Manually researched
  • • Factor scores & overall Score
  • • Conviction & Risk labels
  • • Overview, Why It Matters, Bull/Bear cases
  • • Risks, Catalysts, Competitor comparison
  • • Tokenomics supply, distribution, emissions
  • • Market cap and FDV reference values

Data sources

  • Live prices & 24h change: Jupiter Price API V3 (lite-api.jup.ag/price/v3)
  • Tokenomics & supply: project documentation, on-chain mint data, and official disclosures.
  • Adoption & usage: public dashboards (DeFiLlama, Dune, Artemis) cross-referenced with project reporting.
  • Qualitative research: primary review of whitepapers, audits, governance forums, and team communications.

Update cadence

We aim to re-review each covered project at least every 14 days, and immediately after any material catalyst (audit, exploit, token unlock, major partnership, governance vote, or large price dislocation). Projects with a "Needs Update" badge have not been re-validated within the past week.

Limitations

  • • Scores reflect analyst judgement and may differ from other research providers.
  • • Live prices depend on Jupiter's coverage; thinly-traded tokens may show stale or missing data.
  • • Past performance and current scores do not predict future returns.
  • • We do not factor in trader sentiment, technical analysis, or short-term flows.
